Phi Kappa Phi Announces Semifinalists For Excellence In Innovation Award
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi recently named the six semifinalists for its Excellence in Innovation Award, a new $100,000 award recognizing an institution for achievement in finding powerful answers to local, regional, national or global challenges. According to the press release announcing the news, the semifinalists were judged based on the project’s ability to achieve meaningful, measurable outcomes to create large-scale change.
The six semifinalists include:
• Arizona State University
• California State University, Fullerton
• The Evergreen State College
• James Madison University
• The New School
• Tulane University
The winning institution will receive $100,000 in an effort to reward its practice in response to changes and challenges facing higher education in this century.
Phi Kappa Phi will announce the three finalists for the award in May, with the award winner announced in late May and presented at the Society’s biennial convention on July 30. The Excellence in Innovation Award is Phi Kappa Phi’s first and only award for institutions; since 1933, the Society has awarded individual fellowships and grants to members and students on its chapter campuses, awarding more than $500,000 annually.
Phi Kappa Phi inducts approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni annually, with chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities in North America and the Philippines and with membership by invitation only. For more information, visit www.PhiKappaPhiInnovation.org.
